RDP Connection to ProPay

This guide explains how to set up and use ProPay via Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) connection.

Setup Steps

1. Install ProPay on Your RDP Server

If not already installed, install ProPay on your RDP server. See the Network Installation help topic for detailed instructions.

2. Install PDF995 on Your RDP Server

If not already installed, install the PDF995 printer driver on your RDP server. See the Download and Install the PDF995 Driver help topic for instructions.

Note: The PDF995 printer driver must be installed on the RDP server if running ProPay via RDP connection. Installing the PDF995 driver on your local PC is not required when running ProPay via RDP connection.

3. Create a Remote Desktop Shortcut on Your Local PC

  1. Click Windows Start > Windows Accessories > Remote Desktop
  2. Enter the computer name or IP address
  3. Enter your user name
  4. Save this connection shortcut to your desktop

4. Configure Local Resources

Select the devices and resources you want to use in your remote session:

Make your local C: drive available in the RDP session:

  1. In the Remote Desktop Connection window, click Show Options
  2. Click the Local Resources tab
  3. Under Local devices and resources, click More
  4. Expand Drives and select your local C: drive
  5. Click OK

Enable printer redirection:

  1. In the Local Resources tab
  2. Under Local devices and resources, ensure Printers is selected
  3. Click More to select specific printers if needed

Save the shortcut on your local PC's desktop.

5. Connect to RDP Server

Click the RDP shortcut on your local PC to connect to your RDP server.

6. Select Printers to Be Used with ProPay

After connecting to the RDP server:

  1. Start ProPay
  2. Click Client Functions > Setup > System Setup > Printers

a) Select Checks and Reports Printer(s)

If reports or checks will be redirected to your local printer, the same printer driver must be installed on the RDP server.

Example: If the Canon LBP7750 is installed on your local PC, the same printer driver must be installed on the RDP server.

b) Select the PDF995 Printer

When selecting the PDF file printer, ensure you select the PDF995 installed on the server (not the redirected version).
