Payarcus.dbf Corruption Error

Problem

You receive the following error message:

Corruption Detected: Payarcus.dbf

or

DBFCDX/1012 Corruption Detected: payarcus.dbf

Solution

This error indicates that the PAYARCUS.DBF file has been corrupted and needs to be replaced with the backup file.

Fix the corrupted file

  1. Exit ProPay completely.
  2. Open Windows Explorer (File Explorer).
  3. Go to your ProPay folder (typically C:\PAYSOFT\PROPAY26).
  4. Locate the file PAYARCUS.DBF.
  5. Check the file size. If it shows zero bytes, the file is corrupt.
  6. Right-click PAYARCUS.DBF and select Rename.
  7. Rename it to PAYARCUS.OLD.
  8. Locate the file BACK.DBF in the same folder.
  9. Right-click BACK.DBF and select Rename.
  10. Rename it to PAYARCUS.DBF.
  11. Double-click the file DELCDX.BAT to delete and recreate the index files.
  12. Start ProPay.

The corruption error should now be resolved.
