Windows Compatibility

ProPay runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. If you experience issues, you can run ProPay in compatibility mode for an earlier Windows version.

When to Use Compatibility Mode

Use compatibility mode if you experience these problems:

  • ProPay crashes on startup
  • Display issues or incorrect colors
  • Printer errors
  • File access errors
  • Program freezes or hangs

Setting Up Compatibility Mode

Follow these steps to run ProPay in compatibility mode:

  1. Go to the ProPay installation folder (typically C:\PAYSOFT\PROPAY26).
  2. Right-click PROPAY.EXE.
  3. Select Properties.
  4. Click the Compatibility tab.
  5. Check Run this program in compatibility mode for.
  6. Select Windows 7 from the dropdown menu.
  7. Click OK to save the settings.

Additional Compatibility Settings

You can enable these additional settings if needed:

Run as administrator:

  • Check Run this program as an administrator
  • This ensures ProPay has full access to system files and network folders

Display settings:

  • Reduced color mode: Uses 16-bit color instead of 32-bit
  • 640 x 480 resolution: Runs ProPay in a smaller window (rarely needed)
  • Disable fullscreen optimizations: Prevents Windows from changing display modes

Testing the Settings

After applying compatibility settings:

  1. Close the Properties window.
  2. Double-click PROPAY.EXE to launch the program.
  3. Test the feature that was causing problems.
  4. If issues persist, try different compatibility settings.

Common Compatibility Issues

ProPay won't start:

Try these compatibility modes in order:

  • Windows 7
  • Windows 8

Graphics display incorrectly:

  1. Enable Reduced color mode.
  2. Check Disable fullscreen optimizations.
  3. Update your graphics driver from the manufacturer's website.

Network file access errors:

  1. Enable Run this program as an administrator.
  2. Verify network permissions are set correctly.
  3. Check that antivirus software is not blocking ProPay.

Windows 11 Specific Issues

If you're running Windows 11 and ProPay won't start:

  1. Right-click PROPAY.EXE and select Properties.
  2. Go to the Compatibility tab.
  3. Check Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 7.
  4. Check Run this program as an administrator.
  5. Click Change settings for all users.
  6. Apply the same settings.
  7. Click OK to save.
