Calculator

Use the built-in calculator for quick calculations while working in ProPay.

Overview

ProPay provides a handy calculator that you can access at any time while working in the program. The calculator functions just like a standard Windows calculator and can be positioned anywhere on your screen. It stays on top of other ProPay windows so you can reference it while entering payroll data.

Accessing the Calculator

Choose either method:

  • Go to Utilities > Calculator on the main menu
  • Press the F9 key from any screen in ProPay

The calculator opens in a separate window that floats above your current work.

Using the Calculator

The calculator works like a standard Windows calculator:

  1. Click numbers and operators with your mouse, or type them using your keyboard.
  2. Use the standard arithmetic operators: + (add), - (subtract), \* (multiply), / (divide).
  3. Press = or Enter to see the result.
  4. View results in the calculator display window at the top.

Tips

  • Use the memory functions (MS, MR, M+) to store intermediate results when performing multi-step calculations.
  • The calculator does not interfere with data entry in ProPay. You can switch between the calculator and ProPay fields freely.
  • If you prefer a different calculator, you can always use the Windows Calculator alongside ProPay.
