PDF Print Scaling Is Off

Problem

When printing documents such as checks or W-2 forms that need to fit in window envelopes, the sender's or recipient's name and address do not appear correctly through envelope windows.

Solution

ProPay uses Adobe Acrobat Reader for PDF document loading and printing. Issues are often related to page scaling settings in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Step 1: Adjust page scaling

After creating the PDF print file in ProPay but before sending it to your printer:

  1. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  2. Select your target printer.
  3. Locate the Page Scaling option in the print dialog.
  4. Set Page Scaling to None.

If None does not produce acceptable results, try these alternatives:

  • Fit to printable area
  • Shrink to printable area

Test each option by printing a sample check until you achieve the best result.

Step 2: Update Adobe Acrobat Reader

If the problem persists after trying different scaling options:

  1. Visit the official Adobe website.
  2. Download and install the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  3. Follow the same page scaling adjustment steps as above.
