Displaying Your Company Logo
By default, ProPay WEB displays your company name in large, bold text at the top of each page. You can replace this text with your company logo for a more professional, branded appearance.
Creating a Logo File
To display a logo instead of your company name, create an image file with these specifications:
Logo file requirements
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| File name | userlogo.gif |
| File format | GIF |
| Maximum height | 110 pixels |
| Maximum width | 470 pixels |
| Location | \PAYSOFT\WEBPAY\DLLS\ |
Your logo must meet these requirements to display correctly. Larger images may not fit properly in the page layout.
Installing Your Logo
Follow these steps to add your logo to ProPay WEB:
- Create or obtain your company logo image.
- Open the image in Microsoft Paint or another image editing program.
- Verify the image dimensions (should not exceed 470 x 110 pixels).
- Resize the image if necessary to fit within the maximum dimensions.
- Save the file as userlogo.gif (must use this exact filename).
- Copy userlogo.gif to the \PAYSOFT\WEBPAY\DLLS\ folder on your server.
- Restart IIS or refresh the ProPay WEB application.
The next time ProPay WEB runs, it displays your logo instead of the company name.
Checking Image Properties
To verify your image meets the size requirements:
- Right-click the image file and select Properties.
- Click the Details tab (or Summary in older Windows versions).
- Look for Dimensions or Image dimensions.
- Verify width is 470 pixels or less and height is 110 pixels or less.
Alternatively, open the file in Microsoft Paint:
- Open Microsoft Paint.
- Click File > Open and select your logo file.
- Click View > Status Bar to show dimensions (if not already visible).
- Look at the bottom of the Paint window for image dimensions.
Removing Your Logo
If you decide not to use the custom logo anymore:
- Go to \PAYSOFT\WEBPAY\DLLS\.
- Delete or rename userlogo.gif.
- Restart IIS or refresh the ProPay WEB application.
ProPay WEB automatically reverts to displaying your company name in bold letters.
Combining Logo and Company Name
You can create a single logo image that includes both your company logo graphic and your company name text:
- Use an image editing program to combine the logo and text.
- Keep the combined image within the 470 x 110 pixel maximum size.
- Save as userlogo.gif.
- Copy to \PAYSOFT\WEBPAY\DLLS\.
This approach gives you complete control over branding and appearance.
Backing up Your Logo File
ProPay WEB updates and future installations may overwrite or delete the \PAYSOFT\WEBPAY\DLLS\ folder. To protect your custom logo:
- After creating userlogo.gif, make a backup copy.
- Store the backup in a different location (not in the PAYSOFT folder structure).
- After any ProPay update or reinstallation, check if userlogo.gif still exists.
- If the file is missing, copy your backup to \PAYSOFT\WEBPAY\DLLS\ again.
This ensures you don't lose your logo file during software updates.
Image Editing Tips
For best results when creating your logo:
- Use high contrast: Dark logo on light background or vice versa
- Keep it simple: Avoid intricate details that may not show clearly at small sizes
- Test on screen: View the logo in a browser to ensure it's legible
- Save original: Keep a high-resolution version of your logo for future use
- GIF format: This format supports transparency if you want a logo without a rectangular background
Troubleshooting Logo Display
If your logo doesn't appear correctly:
Logo doesn't show at all:
- Verify the filename is exactly userlogo.gif (case-sensitive on some systems)
- Confirm the file is in \PAYSOFT\WEBPAY\DLLS\
- Restart IIS or the ProPay WEB application
- Check file permissions (IIS must be able to read the file)
Logo is cut off or distorted:
- Check image dimensions (must be 470 x 110 pixels or smaller)
- Resize the image to fit within the maximum dimensions
- Maintain the original aspect ratio when resizing
Logo appears pixelated or blurry:
- Use a higher-quality source image
- Avoid enlarging a small image (this causes pixelation)
- Create the logo at the exact size you need rather than resizing
