How Employees Punch in and Out

Employees can clock in and out using facial recognition technology with the ProClock app.

Two Punching Methods

ProClock supports two device configurations for employee time punching.

Group device

A shared tablet installed at the employer's location.

Setup:

  1. The employer provides a tablet (iPad or Android).
  2. The tablet is mounted on a wall or placed in a common area.
  3. The employer downloads and installs the ProClock App on the tablet.
  4. Multiple employees share this device for clocking in and out.

Best for:

  • Employees who work at a fixed location
  • Businesses that want to ensure employees are on-site when punching
  • Employers who prefer centralized time tracking

Features:

  • Facial recognition verifies employee identity
  • Prevents buddy punching
  • Works without individual employee devices

Individual device

An employee's personal smartphone or tablet.

Setup:

  1. Each employee downloads the ProClock App on their personal device.
  2. Employees set up facial recognition on their device.
  3. Each employee uses only their own device for punching.

Best for:

  • Remote workers
  • Field employees
  • Mobile workforce
  • Employees who work from multiple locations

Features:

  • Employees can clock in from anywhere
  • GPS tracking records punch location
  • Convenient for employees who travel
  • Cannot share devices between employees

Facial Recognition Security

Both methods use facial recognition to:

  • Verify employee identity
  • Prevent time theft
  • Ensure accurate time records
  • Eliminate buddy punching

The ProClock app captures the employee's face at each punch and compares it to their registered profile.
