PDF Temp File Not Created (error 5902)
Problem
When printing checks or reports to pdf995, you may receive this error:
Error 5902: PDF temp file C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Paysoft\PDF995\Output\[filename].pdf not created
Solution
Try these troubleshooting steps in order:
Step 1: Set pdf995 as default printer
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers
- Right-click the pdf995 printer
- Select Set as Default Printer
- Try printing one or more reports to pdf995
If printing succeeds, the pdf995 driver is installed correctly. The issue may be related to other PC configuration settings. Submit a technical incident to Paysoft if the problem persists.
Step 2: Verify pdf995 installation
If you cannot print any reports to pdf995, the driver may not be installed or the installation is incomplete.

Step 3: Check PDF output folder permissions
- Go to Utilities > Show PDF Temp Files Folder on the ProPay Main Menu
- This opens the folder where ProPay creates temporary PDF files before encrypting them:
- `C:\Users\[your_login_name]\Documents\Paysoft\PDF995\OUTPUT`
- Right-click the OUTPUT folder and send a shortcut to your desktop for easy access
- Test folder access by opening WordPad, typing some text, and printing to pdf995
- Check if the PDF appears in the OUTPUT folder
- The folder is on a server and the user lacks write permissions
- Antivirus software is blocking ProPay from writing files to the folder
- Windows folder redirection is preventing access
- Go to Utilities > Show PC Environment on the ProPay Main Menu
- Check the locations of these folders:
- Windows Temp Folder
- User App Data Folder
- User My Documents Folder
- User ProPay Settings
- User Email Settings
- ProPay Install Folder
- Pdf995 Output Folder
Note: This folder may be located on your local PC or on a server, depending on your Windows user profile settings configured by your IT administrator.

If any of these folders are located on a server, contact your IT administrator to change your Windows profile so these folders are on your local workstation with full user rights.
