EFTPS Import Issues

Problem

You try to import the EFTPS.TXT file into your EFTPS software but receive an error message.

Cause

Most of the time, this problem occurs when you have selected the wrong EFTPS processor in System Setup. The file format must match your EFTPS software's requirements.

Solution

Verify EFTPS file location

ProPay saves the EFTPS.TXT file to:

C:\PAYSOFT\PROPAY26\

This is the root ProPay installation folder.

Verify file format

ProPay creates EFTPS files in .TXT format compatible with the EFTPS Batch Provider system.

Import the file into EFTPS

  1. Open your EFTPS software
  2. Select the Import option
  3. Navigate to C:\PAYSOFT\PROPAY26\
  4. Select the EFTPS.TXT file
  5. Complete the import process

Rebuild the EFTPS file

If the file won't import:

  1. Go to Client Functions > Electronic Processing > EFTPS on the ProPay Main Menu
  2. Delete the existing EFTPS.TXT file for the affected quarter
  3. Regenerate the EFTPS.TXT file
  4. Try importing the new file into your EFTPS software

Common Import Errors

File not found

  • Verify the file exists in C:\PAYSOFT\PROPAY26\
  • Check that you generated the EFTPS file for the correct quarter
  • Ensure the file has a .TXT extension

Invalid file format

  • Verify you're using the current EFTPS Batch Provider format
  • Regenerate the file if it appears corrupted
  • Contact Paysoft support at (702) 827-0015 if issues persist
