Gmail and Office365 Email Setup
Overview
ProPay supports streamlined email setup for Gmail and Office365 accounts using OAuth authentication. This method is more secure than traditional SMTP configuration and does not require you to manage app-specific passwords.
Setting Up Gmail or Office365 Email
- Enter your email address in both the Email and Reply-To fields.
- Select Office365 or GMAIL from the drop-down menu in the Provider field.
Authentication Process
The system will take you to either the Gmail or Office365 login page.
Step 1: Select your account
You will be prompted to select the email account that you want to associate with ProPay.
Step 2: Grant permission
Check the box to allow ProPay to send emails on your behalf.
Step 3: Confirm authorization
Click Continue at the bottom of the page.
You will see a screen that says you can close this window now.
Completing the Setup
In the password box, you can enter any 3-4 characters. Your password is saved as part of the token that is placed on your computer.
Troubleshooting
If for some reason you are unable to send emails through ProPay using your Gmail or Office365 email address, simply repeat these steps. This will refresh your authentication token.
Security Note
This OAuth-based authentication method is more secure than storing your email password in ProPay. The token allows ProPay to send emails on your behalf without exposing your actual email password.
