Update Your Software License
ProPay licensees must update the software license periodically to maintain access to the software.
When to Update Your License
You must update your license:
- At least once each year to renew for the following year
- When you purchase additional clients
- When you purchase software upgrades
Update the License
When ProPay notifies you that your license will expire in a few days:
- Go to the Utilities menu.
- Select License Information/Updating.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to connect to the ProPay FTP server.
- The license update typically completes in less than one minute.
Troubleshoot License Update Failures
If the license update process fails, try these solutions.
Disable Windows Firewall
- Go to Control Panel.
- Open Windows Firewall.
- Temporarily disable the firewall.
- Try updating the license again.
- Re-enable the firewall after the update completes.
Disable third-party firewall software
If you have software-based firewall protection installed:
- Temporarily disable the firewall.
- Try updating the license again.
- Re-enable the firewall after the update completes.
Disable antivirus software
- Temporarily disable your antivirus software.
- Try updating the license again.
- Re-enable antivirus protection after the update completes.
Allow access to Paysoft servers
Configure your antivirus or firewall software to allow connections to:
paysoft.com
Add this address to your allowed sites or exceptions list.
Open port 2000
- Open Windows Help.
- Search for open port or Inbound rules (depending on your Windows version).
- Follow the instructions to open port 2000 in Windows Firewall and your router.
- Try updating the license again.
Bypass the router
As a last resort:
- Connect your PC directly to the Internet via Ethernet cable.
- Bypass the firewall in your office router.
- Update the license.
- Reconnect through your router after the update completes.
